Two Kentucky sisters have been arrested after authorities accused them of carrying out a months-long campaign of harassment and intimidation against employees of a Louisville jail. The women are now being held at the same correctional facility where investigators say the alleged incidents occurred.
Kevonne Gore and Shavonne Gore, both 40, have each been charged with second-degree stalking and harassment with no physical contact. In addition, Kevonne Gore faces a separate charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a substance.
Both women are currently being held at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.
Police Allege Months of Harassment
According to citations filed by the Louisville Metro Police Department, the sisters allegedly spent months targeting correctional officers and other jail employees.
Investigators said the women frequently parked outside the jail for extended periods, watching employees arrive for work and leave at the end of their shifts.
Authorities also allege the sisters used their cellphones to record staff members and repeatedly sent them intimidating messages.
Officer’s Home Allegedly Photographed
One of the messages cited by investigators reportedly included a photograph of a correctional officer’s home.
Police said the image was accompanied by the message:
“I will find you, one way or another.”
Authorities allege the message was intended to threaten and intimidate the officer.
Additional Acts of Intimidation Alleged
Investigators also claim the sisters left a black rose on the vehicle of a correctional officer. According to local reports, black roses are often associated with death or other negative symbolism.
Police further allege the women created a social media account using the nickname of an officer’s daughter.
According to investigators, messages sent from that account included the statement:
“I know what you did.”
Authorities say these actions formed part of an ongoing pattern of harassment directed at jail employees.
Incident Outside Jail Led to Arrests
According to police, the investigation escalated on Thursday when one of the sisters was standing across the street from the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.
Investigators allege she called out an officer by name before saying:
“I got something for you. You better watch your back.”
Following that incident, police arrested both Kevonne and Shavonne Gore and booked them into the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.
Both Women Pleaded Not Guilty
During their initial court appearances, both sisters entered not guilty pleas to the charges filed against them.
A judge set bond at $10,000 each.
Kevonne Gore also remains charged with driving under the influence, in addition to the stalking and harassment charges.
Next Court Date Scheduled
Court records show both defendants are scheduled to return to court on July 27 as the criminal case proceeds.
Prosecutors allege the sisters engaged in repeated acts of intimidation that caused concern among correctional employees. The allegations remain pending, and both women are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
