A longtime friendship in Florida allegedly spiraled into a campaign of harassment, threats, and property destruction, leading to criminal charges against two women accused of stalking and terrorizing a former friend.
According to Broward County court records, Natasha Howell, 26, has been charged with burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, aggravated stalking, writing a threat to kill, and criminal libel.
Her alleged accomplice, Kassandra Mitiale, 23, faces charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling, aggravated stalking, and criminal mischief involving more than $1,000 in property damage. Prosecutors filed charges against Mitiale on May 26, while Howell was formally charged on July 13.
Friendship Ended After Years Together
According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim told investigators that she and Howell had been close friends since middle school.
The two women grew up together in North Lauderdale, Florida, regularly spent time together, and the victim had even babysat Howell’s child.
Their friendship reportedly ended around May 2025 following a personal falling out. Court documents do not disclose what caused the dispute.
Investigators Say Online Posts Fueled the Conflict
Following the breakup of the friendship, investigators say Howell repeatedly targeted the victim through social media.
On May 11, Howell allegedly posted a message on WhatsApp claiming she had purchased the victim’s personal information for $6 and suggesting someone she knew would use that information against her.
The victim later told investigators she believed the post referred directly to her and made her fear for her safety.
Authorities also allege Howell later posted the victim’s full name and date of birth online along with another caption referencing a police contact.
Alleged Gun Threat Posted on Social Media
According to investigators, two days later, Howell uploaded a photograph of herself holding a handgun.
Authorities say she also shared a voice recording in Patois, in which she allegedly threatened to use the firearm against the victim and expressed satisfaction at the idea.
Those posts became part of the evidence supporting the criminal charges.
Second Woman Allegedly Joined the Harassment
Investigators allege that on May 14, Howell enlisted Kassandra Mitiale to help intimidate the victim.
Court documents state the two women called the victim together, attempting to provoke her into a fight with Howell.
When the victim refused further contact, Howell allegedly threatened to send Mitiale to the victim’s father’s home to confront her.
Authorities say Mitiale later went to the residence, but the victim was not there, and she eventually left.
Ring Camera Allegedly Sprayed Before Break-In
According to investigators, Howell went to the victim’s apartment at approximately 2:05 a.m. on May 25 and sprayed pepper spray directly onto the home’s Ring doorbell camera.
Later that same night, Howell and the victim encountered each other at a nightclub in Hollywood, Florida, where they reportedly became involved in a physical altercation before being separated.
Apartment Allegedly Vandalized
Authorities say the harassment escalated again on May 26, when Howell allegedly posted the victim’s home address on Instagram along with the message “you gotta go.”
Investigators say Howell later called the victim and claimed she was “5 min out.”
At approximately 10:50 a.m., surveillance footage allegedly captured two women tearing the Ring camera from the wall before attempting to kick open the apartment’s front door. The recording ended shortly afterward.
According to investigators, the women then entered the apartment and extensively damaged the victim’s belongings.
Thousands of Dollars in Damage Reported
When deputies from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, they found the apartment had been heavily vandalized.
Investigators said the front door had been forced open and numerous personal belongings had been damaged, including:
- A flat-screen television
- A couch
- A mirror
- Bathroom items
- Other household property
Authorities estimated the damage at approximately $3,000.
Threats Allegedly Continued During Police Investigation
While deputies were still investigating the burglary, the victim reportedly received another phone call from the suspects.
According to the affidavit, Howell allegedly said, “We are not done yet,” before adding, “Your boyfriend is next.”
Investigators said the conversation was captured on deputies’ body-worn cameras.
Social Media Video Became Evidence
Authorities also allege Howell later uploaded a video to Instagram showing several people damaging property inside the victim’s apartment.
During the recording, investigators said someone can be heard yelling “Kassandra!”, which prosecutors say further connects Mitiale to the alleged break-in.
Court Cases Ongoing
Court records show Mitiale was arrested in May and later released on bond on June 4. She is no longer listed as being in the Broward County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
Howell remains in custody.
As of the latest court filings, future court dates for either defendant had not yet been scheduled.
