Kansas Family Warns Workers After Man Dies Days After Serious Job Injury

A Kansas family is sharing a heartbreaking warning with others about taking workplace injuries seriously after their loved one died days after being hurt while working.

Bryan Castro, a 28-year-old business owner from Wichita, was found dead inside his truck after suffering an injury while working on a tree removal project. His family says they want others to understand the importance of seeking medical attention and getting follow-up care after any serious accident.

Castro was the owner of PrimeScape Solutions, a company that provided landscaping, demolition, and tree-trimming services.

Injury Happened While Working After Storm Damage

The incident began in June when Castro was working in Salina, Kansas, on a damaged tree following severe storms that had recently moved through the area.

According to his brother, Jesus Castro, Bryan was working high up in the tree when a dangerous accident occurred. Jesus said his brother was approximately 15 feet above the ground when a branch suddenly moved upward and struck him in the ribs.

The impact knocked Bryan out of the tree and left him injured.

Although he was hurt, it took several days before Bryan eventually went to the emergency room for medical treatment.

Doctors told him he had suffered a bruised lung and provided him with a breathing device to help with his recovery.

Family Says Bryan Was In Severe Pain

Bryan’s fiancée, Beatriz, said he was experiencing significant pain after the accident and was instructed to rest for several days.

Despite the injury, Bryan later returned to work.

His brother said the last time they spoke, the two were finishing a demolition project. Bryan continued working, but he never made it home that night.

Jesus said he happened to pass his brother’s truck on the road that evening, but did not realize anything was wrong at the time.

When Bryan failed to respond and did not return home, his family became concerned.

Brother Finds Bryan Dead Inside the Truck

The following day, Jesus knew where to look for his brother.

He found Bryan inside his truck, which was parked only a few blocks away from his home.

Jesus said he initially hoped Bryan was simply sleeping because everyone had been exhausted from working.

“I was hoping he was asleep because we were all exhausted,” Jesus said. “I didn’t want to believe he was gone. I just wanted to say he was asleep. A brother’s worst fear happened.”

Bryan’s family said his position inside the truck appeared to show that he was still struggling with pain after his injury.

They believe he may have been experiencing complications related to the accident.

Family Waiting for Official Cause of Death

Authorities have not yet released the official cause of Bryan Castro’s death.

His family said they are still waiting for answers, but noted that he had continued experiencing breathing difficulties after the workplace accident.

Officials have said foul play is not suspected.

While the exact circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation, his family believes his earlier injury may have played a role.

Family Shares Warning About Workplace Injuries

Following Bryan’s death, his family is urging workers not to ignore injuries or assume they will heal on their own.

Jesus said people should seek additional medical opinions if they are unsure about their condition or if symptoms continue.

“Just get checked twice,” Jesus advised. “If you are not sure about the first time or the doctors aren’t sure about the first time, go get checked a second time somewhere else.”

He warned that delaying treatment could have serious consequences.

“Because you wake up one day — or not even wake up one day,” he said.

Remembering Bryan Castro

Family members described Bryan as a hardworking person who built his own company and dedicated himself to his work.

Through PrimeScape Solutions, he provided landscaping, demolition, and tree services while building a future for himself and his family.

His loved ones say his death has left a deep impact on everyone who knew him.

Beatriz said she continues to think about what Bryan may have experienced in his final moments.

“I want to think that he tried to call me, and he tried to call for help,” she said. “He knew anytime he needed, I would be there.”

The Castro family hopes sharing Bryan’s story will encourage others to treat workplace injuries seriously and seek medical care immediately after accidents, even if the injuries initially seem manageable.
