51-Year-Old Man Found Shot to Death Inside Car Outside Atlanta Convenience Store, Police Investigating

Atlanta police are investigating a deadly shooting after a man was found dead inside a vehicle outside a convenience store on Thursday night.

Officers responded to the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive near the C.T. Martin Recreation Center after receiving reports of a shooting.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers discovered a 51-year-old man inside a silver vehicle in the store’s parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not yet released the man’s identity, pending notification of his family.

Police Believe Shooting Was Targeted

Investigators remained at the scene for several hours gathering evidence and speaking with possible witnesses.

The parking lot outside the convenience store was blocked off with police tape as detectives worked to determine what led to the deadly shooting.
