A Wisconsin woman is facing a misdemeanor charge after authorities say she became aggressive during a family dispute that erupted shortly after her grandmother’s death, allegedly spitting on her uncle and shouting profanities while inside his home.
According to a criminal complaint, Karin Andrews, 47, was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct on Tuesday in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred in December 2025 at her uncle’s residence in Salem Lakes, Wisconsin.
Complaint Filed Weeks After Incident
Court records reviewed by Law&Crime state that Andrews’ 61-year-old uncle contacted police on Jan. 5, 2026, about a month after the incident. He reported that Andrews behaved aggressively during a gathering at his home following the death of his mother.
According to investigators, the uncle had been caring for his elderly mother before she died on Dec. 2, 2025.
Family Was Not Allowed to Visit Before Death
The complaint states that the day before the woman died, the uncle’s sister and her two daughters, including Andrews, wanted to visit her. However, he declined the request because he believed they would create a disturbance.
After his mother’s death, the uncle notified his sister and other relatives. At approximately 11:15 a.m., his sister and her daughters arrived at the home to pay their respects.
Alleged Argument Escalated Near Grandmother’s Body
According to the criminal complaint, the uncle told investigators that the three women acted in a “vulgar and disrespectful” manner after entering the residence.
He alleged that Andrews stood over her deceased grandmother’s body and confronted him, accusing him of preventing the family from visiting the previous day. During the exchange, Andrews allegedly called her uncle a “motherf—er.”
The uncle said he then instructed Andrews that she had 20 minutes to leave his home.
Police Say Woman Allegedly Spat on Uncle
Instead of leaving, Andrews allegedly continued yelling and swearing at her uncle. The complaint further alleges that she spat in his face during the confrontation.
The uncle called 911, telling dispatchers that Andrews remained aggressive and disorderly inside the home.
Video Evidence Reviewed by Investigators
According to court documents, the uncle provided investigators with video footage recorded inside the house during the incident.
Police reported that the recording showed Andrews arguing with her uncle and shouting, “Are you f—ing kidding me?”
Investigators said the video also appeared to show the uncle calmly asking Andrews to leave the residence before she allegedly lunged toward him and appeared to spit at him.
Court Appearance Scheduled
Authorities did not arrest or book Andrews into jail following the investigation. Instead, prosecutors filed a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge.
She is scheduled to make her first court appearance on Aug. 6.
The allegations outlined in the criminal complaint have not been proven in court, and Andrews is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty through the legal process.
