Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting after a man was found dead early Monday morning at an apartment complex in Denham Springs, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the scene shortly after reports of multiple gunshots were received and discovered the victim suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.
Deputies Responded to Reports of Gunfire
According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 5 a.m. on Monday, July 20, to Parc at Denham Springs Apartments, located off Highway 16, following reports of multiple gunshots in the area.
When deputies arrived, they located an adult male who had been shot.
Victim Pronounced Dead at the Scene
Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity, pending notification of next of kin.
Officials also have not disclosed how many times the victim was shot or whether anyone else was injured during the incident.
Investigation Remains Active
Detectives remained at the apartment complex Monday morning gathering evidence, interviewing potential witnesses and working to determine what led to the deadly shooting.
At this time, investigators have not announced any arrests or identified any suspects connected to the case.
