50-year-old dies after hit-and-run crash on Milwaukee’s northside

A 50-year-old person has died following a hit-and-run crash on Milwaukee’s north side, and police are searching for the driver who fled the scene.

According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the deadly crash happened Tuesday evening near the intersection of Green Bay Avenue and Glendale Avenue.

High-Speed Vehicle Crashes Into Another Car

Police said the crash occurred around 7 p.m. when a vehicle traveling north on Green Bay Avenue at a high rate of speed collided with another vehicle carrying two people.

The impact left a 50-year-old passenger in the second vehicle with critical injuries. Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where the person later died from their injuries.

Authorities have not released the identity of the victim.

Driver of Second Vehicle Taken Into Custody

Police said the 36-year-old driver of the vehicle carrying the victim was taken into custody following the crash.

Authorities said the driver faces charges connected to the incident, but additional details about the specific charges have not yet been released.

Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Suspected Hit-and-Run Driver Still Missing
