The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating after a juvenile arrived at a local hospital Thursday morning suffering from a gunshot wound.
According to authorities, officers were called to Baton Rouge General Mid City around 6:53 a.m. on July 23 after hospital staff reported that a patient with a gunshot injury had arrived in a personal vehicle.
When officers arrived, they confirmed that the injured person was a juvenile who had suffered a gunshot wound.
Injuries Not Considered Life-Threatening
Police said the juvenile’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Authorities did not release additional details about the victim’s age, where the shooting occurred, or how the injury happened.
Investigation Underway
The Baton Rouge Police Department has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
