A road rage incident on the Belt Parkway in Queens turned deadly early Sunday morning after a man was allegedly attacked with a baseball bat following a crash, according to police sources.
Officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress shortly after 1 a.m. on the eastbound Belt Parkway near Exit 21B. When police arrived, they found two injured men at the scene.
One of the victims, identified as 47-year-old Crisanie Dockery, was found unconscious and unresponsive with severe head trauma. Emergency responders rushed him to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
A second man, 39, was also found at the scene suffering from minor injuries to one arm. He was treated for his injuries, though authorities did not immediately release additional details about his condition.
Investigators believe the violence began after a traffic accident led to a dispute between the individuals involved. According to sources, the two men were assaulted with a baseball bat during the confrontation.
Police are now searching for a blue vehicle that reportedly fled the scene following the attack. Authorities have not released information about a possible suspect or confirmed whether any arrests have been made.
